1 - Spanky, it is as I suspected - we have a great deal in common (religion aside ):

5. Pixar (I know, weird entry - but they are batting 1.000 on amazing animated movies, and I believe they work collectively to achieve this)
6. Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy alone puts him here)
7. Sergio Leone (The spaghetti westerns put him here)
8. David O. Selznick
9. Robert Zemeckis
10. George Romero (hey, as a horror buff I gotta give props to the inventor of modern zombie movies!)

Oh man! I can't believe I forgot George Romero!

Speaking of westerns; I also should have mentioned Akira Kurosawa -perhaps the greatest "western" filmmaker of all time. (Think about it).
So, now that I've had a moment to reflect a bit, my new "top 12" would be:

(I think Peter Jackson is an incredibly talented film maker -however the "look how great I am" feeling I got from watching King Kong pushed my pretentious-meter into the red and got him booted from my list.)

3 - My list is pretty similar as well.... with just a few minor additions:

- Clint Eastwood (heck.. at the risk of ridicule and beatings I even liked the Bridges over Madison County)
- George Lucas: even though the prequels STINK he still has done some AWESOME stuff in the area of technology that no geek can argue!
- Irvin Kershner: Empire, Robocop 2, Never Say Never Again! Enough said! He rocks!
