It was only a matter of time
Category Cars and TrucksFirst Pontiac redid the GTO. Granted, this is a love it or hate it car, but it marked the return of the "muscle car wars" (I don't count the Corvette C6, the Dodge Viper, or the new ultra awesome Shelby here, as I consider them more sports/supercar than muscle car).
Then Ford followed suit with the brand new Mustang and Mustang GT. I know that the Mustang never went out of production, but let's be honest here and admit that the last few generations, while decent sellers, pretty much sucked. The new Mustang GT is an absolutely awesome vehicle, and pays homage to the original styling while stepping firmly into the 21st century.
So as I said, it was only a matter of time before Dodge came out with a new Charger. Unveiled today at the North American International Auto Show, the 2006 Charger wowed the crowd. The stats sound impressive: 0-60 in 6 seconds, Hemi motor, rear-wheel drive, yowsa. I only wish the designers had paid more attention to the folks at Ford than the folks at Pontiac, because this thing is about the most but-ugly vehicle I've ever seen.
